No one should be forced against his own will.
Tuition ended 30minutes before the appointed time because my kid has to attend a dinner upon orders from his father. I would not call it a dinner, rather it is more like a social function as I heard.
Socialising makes more sense for adults and kids of his age would probably prefer staying home without the supervision of his parents as they go for the dinner. That will be freedom, isn't it?
Well, despite my kid echoing his protests over the phone, they were not met with approval from his dad. I could sense my kid's anger boiling as he whined and hollered into the phone, but his mini ruckus was stemmed as soon as it started.
Grouses, grouses. But the authority was not to be shaken and he was finally sent packing into his room to change to attire deemed proper for the function.
Of course, I made my way to the door, after biding a hasty goodbye.
...
Now now. No one should be forced against his own will, at least that's what I perceive. However, kids will always have to take orders from higher authorities, be it reasonable or not. Should they be held to ransom? It's for their own good, they say. Or they say that they are not sensible enough to make their own decisions.
I am not entirely sure about that.
At least I have the freedom of choice. Though, I have to acknowledge that it is a double-edged sword, as it requires a lot of self-discipline most of the time to get things done.
And sometimes, laziness prompt me to rather have a higher body to make the decisions for me.
