Tittled "A Promise of a cake"

Have u made promises to pple before and break them as easily as fragile vases do? Well, hearts get broken even more easily, but they mend. Its only the case of how long it takes to mend. .

Well i got a story of "A Promise" to share. A true story that i heard from a friend.

Slightly more than 10 years ago, there was this pair of childhood friends, a little gal and boy. They were very close. When the boy was 12 years old, he made a promise to the gal. A promise that the gal would always remember. He promised to the gal that he would personally bake a cake on every of her birthday.

So he did on the gal's 13th birthdae, a burnt cake, which tasted a bit unpalatable. However, it was the most delightful and pleasin cake to the gal. True, it is burnt, but every mouthful that she took reached to her.

However, the boy was from the States and he returned back on the same year. The gal thought that he would not be able to keep his promise anymore, but on the gal's 14th birthdae, he returned. Returned with the gal's birthdae cake. And so the tradition continues, every year the boy would come back punctually, without fail to deliever the present faithfully to the gal. Except for one year when the gal was 16th. The boy was involved in an accident and his States friend told her tat the boy was dead.

The news shocked the gal greatly. However... Well, it was true that the boy was involved in an accident but he wasnt dead thou. His frenz jus lied so that the gal would only feel sad for a short period of time. So it ended up that the boy recovered, much to the relief of the gal.

The boy often does thoughtful little things. There was once when it was mornin in Singapore time and wee hours in the States and the boy were jus gave a phone call to say mornin to the gal. Whenever they were together, they often spoke little to each other. The boy was a person of few words, and the gal did not like to probe into his affairs too. And on the gal's 21st birthdae, he returned to Singapore with an air ticket to the States. The boy had remembered that he made a promise to the gal saying that he would marry her if she still havent find her love yet. .

Nope she never returned with him. . and she doesnt have the chance anymore. Sometime back in oct last year, the boy was involved in another accident, and he did not have the luck to pull through. BuT she still received her birthdae cake as usual on her 22nd birthdae. Except that it was delivered by the boy's father who wanted to complete the boy's death wishes.

Well, This story doesnt really have any ending. But I sincerely hope that this friend would be able to find her own fairly tale amidst the concrete jungle we are living in. I told her that she would be able to find another person who would be willin to bake cakes during her birthdae and i hope she would continue to believe. So dear fren,, if u are readin this, pls dun give up.

ps: guys, pls alwiz stick to ur promises tat u made to ur gal, no matter how insignificant the thing may seem to u. AND to all peeps, if the story has given u something to think about, pls shower mi wif huggies!
