starvation.
好饿哦~~
-_-
However, my colleagues are great. As if sensing my malnutrition, one of them actually took the effort to buy me breakfast today.
Oooh vegetarian roti prata~~Thanks Carol!!
The ones who give and make another person happy ends up feeling happy themselves. I smiled to her for her thoughtful gesture and she returned with an appreciative smile. Quite unlike her. She does seem a bit shy with that smile. Who will expect that from a married mum though?
=p
I guess a smile does warm people up a bit. She's one straightforward person who can be rather blunt with her words, and I seldom see her smiling so radiantly. Hmmm, I must have been quite a positive influence around the office?
All right, that's all folks. Stay tune as I bring u the latest updates of my other colleagues. Gee. I am so boring. Who will want to read about my working life?

Lets get on with work
"You are just giving me the rod! You do not give a man a rod and expect him to fish without teaching him anything!!"
However, I completed a swinging reversal by throwing a few smoke bombs and grenades back, since the answers could all be found from the textbook.
"YOU are already equipped to use the rod. Then, do you expect me to take the rod and fish for you?"
He replied with an unconvincing yes, and I knew the battle was won. Though, there was still much to be fought in today's war of words.
He said that he could and would copy from his friends anyway. To which, I responded in nonchalance by concluding that I have 3 logical answers to his doubts. First, I could give him the answers. Secondly, I should try to keep on motivating him to do his work himself. Lastly, he can copy from his friends.
Well, I explained that the second one does not seem to work, which means I have 2 alternative routes to take. Between this 2, I accentuated the fact that I will rather him copy from his friends, as he will probably learn more if he copied with his minimal thinking cap on. Furthermore, if there were any mistakes, he will be able to learn from it.
Copying is an art, do not despise it and underestimate it.
However, I do not advocate it. I explain that he should seek and explore the experience of doing something through his own effort, by it joy or sorrow. It may not be wholly beneficial, yet you can't take that away. Rather, his attitude might cause him harm.
I continued by showing him an atrocious example of a University friend whom I shall not divulge
here. He was enthralled and throughly fascinated by the "escapees" of this friend. I knew I got his attention.
From there, I talked about other stuff, people and relationships, and even my own struggles with learning. There was no tuition to be done today.
It was then that he suddenly said,
"Lets get on with work."
..
Though there was only 5 minutes left, it was enough for this clever "brat" (meant as a joke) to complete one page. And at the end of the session, he reassured me that he has been inspired and he will do his work.
*smilesssss*
To me, a tuition teacher is supposed to provide that extra bit and clarify doubts which the student has trouble understanding from the school curriculum. I do not expect to really be a superman and teach a lot especially when time is a major constraint. I got only 3 hours of teaching time each week.
Instead, it will be wonderful to motivate the kid to cultivate an interest in learning and get him to study in his free time. It beats coercing, threatening and forcing the kid with countless other means to do his work when it is blatant that he is doing it with a 100% frown.

Liar.
If there were a possibility that I could ever connive with the real Jolin, I would surely destroy his faith that I am a mega liar. Heck, he thinks that I am seriously a good liar and I appreciate that tiny compliment. Though I may seem to always break down into hysterical laughter in front of certain people when I attempt to lie, I am a top actor when my skills are in serious need.
Enough of bragging. Anyway, my kid lent me a book titled "Study smart, not study hard". I am considering studying hard into this book so that I really could develop a intricate understanding with my "beloved" notes before I sink into oblivion and get drawn into battle with sneaky Mohr's circle, the crafty Navier-Stokes, and evil system response. (part of my notes).
...
Is that irony? Somehow life is pure irony. I sometimes find it hard to be myself. I really do want to be myself. Though, sometimes, nervousness, a need to lie, wanting to lie, makes me lie.
That's why I am a great liar.

Who woke me up in the windy morning?
Well, go pick up the phone I told myself. And I managed to muster immense effort to stop the ridiculous ringing. By pressing the green button. Of course at this moment I would rather have chosen the inviting red one..
At the other line was Charles, the contractor from ST. So he's the inconsiderate bloke?
*mutters something under my breath*
"喂?Benny ah? 我是Charles lea.你考完试了对吗?想要回去Clementi那里打工吗?"
Wow, at this point, I was going, "he's damn efficient lea. How did he know about it?"
He was definitely not in my list of friends I am going to meet up with this dec.
Hmmm did he read my blog??
OH well that is out of the question.
*SHRUGS*
After attaining at least 50% clarity of mind, it was not hard to deduce how he knew. In fact there are so many possibilities that I am not in the least interested to name any of them. Duh.
Well I replied tersely. "让我考虑一下吧."
....
To be honest, I was not thrilled at the "exciting" prospect of being back there. Even though the money I would have been able to make would be rather tempting, coupled with the fact that I do need a job financial wise, it simply sounds like a god send opportunity. In this case, Charles is the 财神 here. (silence) .. ..
Ok I know that is lame. But the long hours really put me off. I would not mind if my holidays is the long one, but it isn't. Imagine having to work from 8am till 3 plus am everyday consecutively. Exciting isn't it? Well, and the reason behind a fat salary is due to the fact that we work to the bone.
Shucks.. I would prefer a new challenge instead. The job scope there is so boring that I almost fell asleep a couple of times even when I was walking around. I was reduced to a mere walking zombie mostly that period of time because I ran into my debtor, the zzz monster. (more people felling off from their seats) LOL.
I thought of working as a zoo keeper or maybe a mascot last time round but I never did. I need a whole new experience now, and hopefully a good and interesting one. *Smiles* I should try to be a road sweeper at ST instead, if I ever return. The sweeper uncle there seems to enjoy his work there, at least he smiles more than any of the staff in ST. Haha.
But seriously, any exotic job offers for me? Being a gigolo is not in my list though. Do read the post A bizarre offer if you wish to know why.. Haha.
All right. Off to soccer soon. Sk just messaged to say he will be late. Standard fare.

a petter pic across the sea?
~~~
Played soccer wif Vietnamese internationals at Nus src handball court today. They really display acute sportsmanship in addition to their immaculate teamwork and precise passing. Haha i shall be a braggart and comment on my wonder goal today.
I was playin a lone striker for my team. It was a counter attack and i received the ball in mid air on the right somewhere slightly in front of the midway line. There was a opposition player markin mi closely and with a deft flick usin my instep of my fav right foot, i got past him in a swift flowin motion. I raced down to the centre but alas, as alwiz, my "deft" touch wasnt precise enough and it flew slightly too far away from mi. I could hav used my left foot to strike a very adventurous volley but i knew my far from polished technique would not be able to carry off such a daring strike. so i cushioned the ball down to the ground usin my left foot and as i attempted to cut back to the centre(now on the left instead haha), usin the outside of my right, the opposition midfield general rushed back to jockey mi. Without ado, i did 2 lightnin quick stepovers (edited), first to the right, second to the left and immediately pushed the ball left and foward. This halted the marker momentarily and i picked my footin and striked a angled shot from the left corner usin my left foot and it was destined to be a top class goal from a lucky strike. Hee.
The midfield general came over to congratulate mi and everyone applauded. That's genunine sportsmanship. It was juz back to basics. We were enjoyin football on a level playin field. Normally, local opposition would hav not been so generous wif their praises.
Recently, foreigners juz wowed mi with normal manners.
Rubbish
WOrked for an event company as a usherer yesterday at suntec city, the Rock. Its one of the easiest job i hav ever done. Haa. I guess doin a bit of usherin, helpin to clear food from the buffet tray into my mouth, and being told to relax by our supervisor when we were alr slackin in one corner is a bit too much. The toughest thing was to wake up soo early to report for work at 630am. Esp when mi and junli slept late tgt beforehand at my hse, playin games and den engagin in serious man talk till 3am in the mornin.
----
Den today was fun at sentosa. I muz really go and figure out volley ball. a marvel at how the ball spins in the air. Lihui's killer serves is somethin to take note of. Luge was fun too. a pity the ride is so short. 5 dollars is wasted faster den i could imagine. Hope to see the pics soon. And and and... gayin is fun. enjoyed the rxn of the gals when they find mi gay. bleahs.
