Well. Nothing much. This is my usual training set up at home. I dribble a soccer ball in zig-zag motion around the cuddly soft toys. If I knock one over, I normally do some push ups as punishment.

The soccer hooligan.

A fight of the century could have been fought.

The exciting and totally rude exchange of vulgarities were an ominous sign of bloodshed and violence. It could have spurred 2 hot headed men to grab at each other's throats and spill blood. However, it simply ended with a few glasses of beer for one of the man and his companions.

That man was my brother.

We were playing soccer at Fico which was an indoor turf soccer court near Jurong West today at 10pm with a group of friend's friends. As a matter of fact, that meant strangers. My brother was involved in a slight tussle with a pockmarked guy donning a Man Utd jersey. My brother had shrugged off his attention and the guy fell to the ground in a more than legitimate challenge.

Any referee would have let play go on for a harder challenge.

The pockmarked guy reacted as if someone had hurt that small, oblivious part of his innate pride. He ranted off like a mad dog on the loose and was incredulous that my brother did not apologize for that challenge on him.

However, he did not really give my bro a chance. The guy was up on his feet in an instant and how do u expect a sane human being to react when a mad man started shooting with his verbal AK47 from point blank range.

If a man starts shooting at you, u either run, or shoot back.

My brother chose the latter.

Angry words ensued, but my brother was the calmer one.

The guy got so angry that fists were raised and we had to seperate them.

The guy finally said" I do not want to play with you."

Words formed in my head. "Childish little fool."

My brother shouted back and said fine. He left the court which was enclosed in a net. Our team followed suit. 5 of us just sat outside to rest for a while. Another team who was waiting for their turn outside went to play and one of them who was about to go into the court told my brother not to mind that guy and the pockmarked guy overheard that. The kind hearted guy got a load of verbal attacks from his pockmarked friend because of that.

Intermediate conclusion: The pockmarked guy is really ... bla bla bla..

The most ridiculous thing is.. After 3minutes or so, the pockmarked guy in the court began his rubbish again.

He ranted:" Since you are not interested in playing and want to leave, why are you still here?"

Gosh.. I could hear something break. I think it is my brother's temper. My bro got totally obscene. Anyway, the rest of us were quite exasperated since we had the right to rest a while first.

Hmm, the human mind is complex. Has the mechanism in the pockmarked guy gone awry?

Final conclusion: Let's just leave.

ps: It was lucky that I managed to calm my brother by listing the undesirable consequences of assault. He really wanted to beat the daylights out of that guy.

Soccer Crazed.

Craving for soccer. I had that terrible itch to kick around while on the bus to school today. I had been rather deprived of soccer that whets my appetite. I need to play continuously for a humble 2 hours at least before I can really satisfy my lust.

But school work is an enemy of soccer..

The only soccer that I played recently was last Saturday's kick about with some secondary school kids and a couple of uncles at the field near my house. The kids are pretty decent players; 2 play for the Young Lions and an other one is in Saint Andrew's school team.

The goal that we used was wooden poles stuck to the ground, which was different from the cones that they used previously. I guessed the cones were already spoilt as they are easily damaged from the crushing impact of shots. The wooden poles are much sturdier, but they make potholes on the pitch and that isn't very pitch friendly isn't it?

Hmm, out of curiosity, I went to check up various types of alternatives like real soccer nets and I came across this website called Soccer Goals. It offers a rather wide range of portable pop up soccer goals with various sizes. Ideal for the kids who want to train professionally on a field with no fixed soccer nets at all. In addition, it will not damage the pitch unlike the unsightly wooden poles currently in use.

I will definitely recommend them to take a look at the website when I play with them the next time round. Having taken a look at the various soccer goals, I believe the Portable Backyard 6 ’ x 4 ’ Competition Folding Kids Soccer Goal is a suitable goal for them. The small goal improves precision and accuracy and the joy of scoring means that you do not have to run and get the ball which has gone off to a distance. The net is conditioned for all weathers too! This simply means rain or shine, it will not fail us as we play with scant regard to the unpredictable weather. I can't wait to try ramming the goals in if they do get the soccer goal!

The soccer rebounders displayed seem quite interesting too. Cool for any players who have the motivation to play alone. This reminded me of my late army nights when I trained alone with only my water bottle and handphone accompanying me. I was more focused on juggling as shooting and passing were ridiculous without a mate. However, the rebounders could solve that problem immediately as I could keep on shooting without the chore of picking the ball out of the net.

Well, the thing that probably deters me is the price of the soccer goals. It isn't that cheap from $49.99 onwards. However, it still boasts of a competitive market price when compared to other companies. If you are looking for a goal for professional training, I propose getting your own soccer goals now!!

My brother said this a few years back and there is quite a lot of truth in that. Considering and making decisions with careful planning is important, as we both agreed on during our small talk over lunch after praying to mama as it was mama's birthday today. However, worrying too much and being pedantic about details does set you back instead of propelling you forward.

Dun worry about how things go as long as you have planned for it properly. The best in the business will still make mistakes no matter how good his plan is.

Anyway, Thomas, me and Sk's project group mate for EG2401 Engineering Professionalism, seems to be a rather fine guy to work with. He's English and he plays soccer too. Oh his favorite team is Aston Villa , pretty much due to the fact that he is a home grown kid there.

Gosh, he tells us how easy Asians get knocked off from the ball due to a slight push from him. I am interested to play and see if he can just knock me off like a bowling pin under the incoming threat of the bowling ball.

Singapore ra ra ra!!!

Yesterday's Asean football championship Semi final ended with Singapore edging out Malaysia in a close encounter through penalties.

Singapore is through to the finals!! Yeah!!!

I was at the National Stadium with a couple of friends, egging Singapore on. Every fine movement and nice touches from the Singapore team was cheered on enthusiastically, whereas Malaysia has to endure the taunts coming from us. The crowd is really amazing. WOW!

The Kallang wave/roar was terrific to behold, and the packed stadium was definitely a scary prospect for the opposition. In fact, Malaysia made so many wayward passes in the first half due to the immense pressure coming from the wild crowd. Though they recover in the second half and managed to lead due to a fluke goal, Singapore managed to fight back.

And that's the spirit all true blue fans want to see. Passion and pride matters more than the quality and brand of football dished out.

Victory truly belongs to the fans.

Furthermore, $6 for more than 2 hours of action is well worth the money. Haha. We went off almost the same time as those who went to watch SHE's concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Remember, they paid more than us, and I got the feeling we went home happier. Well, at least for me.

A mission impossible.

Went to play soccer today yet again. Was not really in the running mood today so I switched to strolling on the right side of the park. I was lazily spraying passes around with my occasional flippant side of showboating by taking on 2-3 players at one go. Though, today's passing movement was rather fluid. Jow was showing more maturity and anticipation as a defender and Kenneth was acting like a captain for once. And most importantly, I was as usual. Good.

Hohoho. Kidding..

Well enough soccer to bore even the hard core fan. In the afternoon after I had lunch and a most fulfilling beauty bath, I was ready to meet ah jun who smsed me earlier for a top secret mission. This would be revealed as you continue to read.

Before I was about to go out, my neighbour came over to my house because her sister and her maid went to the library and she did not want to be left alone in her house. In case you peeps are wondering whether I may be a colourful wolf (色狼)or a pedophile to lust after my little neighbour, the answer is no.

I am judged so skin deep by my 'megawatt' smile that people choose to misunderstand it as a horny oversexed smile. Do not take me by face value all right? I just have a bigger than normal mouth relative to others. It does not mean I am having evil thoughts. I am in fact as mild as the little white lamb. Wahaha.

All right, enough crapping. But I really do think my neighbour is really quite cute even though she is only 9 years old. She got pretty single eyelid eyes.

OOh.

In addition, her hamster is so fun to play with. Correction. It is her sis's hamster. Her hamster died one month ago. Life is so fragile isn't it? Haix.

Okay that is enough. Let me continue.

I met ah jun today with the sole purpose of a secret meeting with his soulmate, Mister M. He offers great and cheap service. Furthermore, I feel that he is quite deft with his hands.

Er.. Actually he is our friendly neighbourhood hairdresser who operates freelance at the comfort of his own home!!

Hence we got a refreshing look once we left his house after 3 long hours. Gone are my unkempt hair and I am not a blackhead anymore. I dyed my hair a shade of brown. As for ah jun, he highlighted his hair to a flaming golden. He was not too happy with the attention seeking tag he is bound to carry for a few months though. The end result was not too appealing to him.

Who woke me up in the windy morning?

Was jolted awake by the incessant ringing of my handphone, with the quirky 爱x无限大 by 元若兰 playing its familiar and catchy tune in the background. I was wondering in my groggy and disheveled state of mind who could be so daring to disturb my beauty sleep.

Well, go pick up the phone I told myself. And I managed to muster immense effort to stop the ridiculous ringing. By pressing the green button. Of course at this moment I would rather have chosen the inviting red one..

At the other line was Charles, the contractor from ST. So he's the inconsiderate bloke?

*mutters something under my breath*

"喂?Benny ah? 我是Charles lea.你考完试了对吗?想要回去Clementi那里打工吗?"

Wow, at this point, I was going, "he's damn efficient lea. How did he know about it?"
He was definitely not in my list of friends I am going to meet up with this dec.

Hmmm did he read my blog??

OH well that is out of the question.

*SHRUGS*

After attaining at least 50% clarity of mind, it was not hard to deduce how he knew. In fact there are so many possibilities that I am not in the least interested to name any of them. Duh.

Well I replied tersely. "让我考虑一下吧."

To be honest, I was not thrilled at the "exciting" prospect of being back there. Even though the money I would have been able to make would be rather tempting, coupled with the fact that I do need a job financial wise, it simply sounds like a god send opportunity. In this case, Charles is the 财神 here. (silence) .. ..

Ok I know that is lame. But the long hours really put me off. I would not mind if my holidays is the long one, but it isn't. Imagine having to work from 8am till 3 plus am everyday consecutively. Exciting isn't it? Well, and the reason behind a fat salary is due to the fact that we work to the bone.

Shucks.. I would prefer a new challenge instead. The job scope there is so boring that I almost fell asleep a couple of times even when I was walking around. I was reduced to a mere walking zombie mostly that period of time because I ran into my debtor, the zzz monster. (more people felling off from their seats) LOL.

I thought of working as a zoo keeper or maybe a mascot last time round but I never did. I need a whole new experience now, and hopefully a good and interesting one. *Smiles* I should try to be a road sweeper at ST instead, if I ever return. The sweeper uncle there seems to enjoy his work there, at least he smiles more than any of the staff in ST. Haha.

But seriously, any exotic job offers for me? Being a gigolo is not in my list though. Do read the post A bizarre offer if you wish to know why.. Haha.

All right. Off to soccer soon. Sk just messaged to say he will be late. Standard fare.

Mad post.

*Phew* Exams are finally over. Hence, a group of us decided to go to Vivo City to take a little walk to self entertain and take a relaxing break from the inhuman torture of the exams.

There were 9 of us, Ah jun, ah chua, Sk, xiong, Haowen, Kang Wei, Yi Wei, Pui, including me. As pui was the only female among the towering male companions, it was natural that she was going to be bullied by us. Along the way, we got her a new found "stead", called K-哥. Oooh. A couple of hours with us and she managed to have a scandal courtesy of Ah jun's blabbering mouth. But we weren't blaming him. In fact, it was a real talking point and the joke of the night.

Hee. Another major highlight was going to the arcade and play. Ah jun, Sk, Haowen and me partnered together in the soccer game which required us to kick a reel ball to pass and shoot. It was absolutely hilarious. Whenever the com keeper gets hold of the ball, we would gather around and attempt to slide in and gain possession of the ball, so that we can take advantage of the confusion and put the ball into the net.

Damn. Italy (our team) lost to Spain in the final. 4-3.

WHEEE!!!

A tiring day. And I was complaining that my legs are fatigued.As usual, I cracked a super lame joke.

"Must be the chicken wings we ate earlier."

The response was a incredulous huh.

"cuz of the lime juice we squeezed over the wings. 脚酸,你知道吗? "

I have so many plans, yet too little time for all. I wish to sing everyday till the glass in my house all shatters (madness), I want to do yoga till I can put my legs on top of my head yet float on mid-air, which is impossible. (crazy laughter)

In addition, I want to play soccer till the ball suddenly explode till to sustained pressure and draw till there is no win or lose (waa lame).

Anyway, I got a lot of ongoing plans to keep me super hectic. I have a kids camp, a chalet and the guys are planning a short trip to KL too. Hope to meet up with as many friends as possible this december.

All right. Off to hone my winning eleven skills now.

complains

Feeling abit vexed for various reasons. The moody season is back.

Yesterday's soccer at nus was rather enjoyable save the latter part which spoilt moi entire bubbly mood. We were enjoying some superb teamwork and coordination at the little field patch until we decided to move to the src handball court. The reason we werent playin at the handball court at first was due to a bunch of handball people using the court for training. When they finished training at one of the courts, we were naturally exahilarated to be able to play on a bigger court.

However, my team didnt enjoy e soccer dished out at all. On paper, we were much weaker than the opponents who consists of moi bro, lingyou and his frenz. Er i prefer not to mention names for moi team haha. And we got a enthusiastic addition to our team who is the main culprit for spoling my mood. Oh. I shall tell u wat he did. Playing as a central defender, he was soo interested in pumping highly inaccurate balls when our strikers dont even have the slightest chance of winning the aerial battle. The opponent's burly defender, Zhibao was a rock in defence whereas our striker, er Melvin wasnt much of a threat to him in the aerial department. And he still insisted in spraying his inaccurate balls all over the court when it isnt goin to work with the team. EEEELLLL.. He ought to get a common sense!

Haa maybe i am too easily mad. Today something almost made mi see fire again. I was at a traffic light at ginza and it was slightly drizzling when i realised tat the chinese bespectacled guy besides the traffic light neva pressed for the green man. Stupid! Is he goin to wait till he becomes a wet bespectacled chicken?

Argh i am full of fire now! I am goin to take a cold bath!!

Hee on a lighter note, it feels so shiok to complain.

The rain and the signs.

Oki. THe rain is makin sport of mi. Today's soccer was marred by the heavy downpour. i was playing sorely under par and i never had the chance to make amends with the rain cutting short my disastrous play. And i had to get drenched gg home cuz the rain was simply horrendous lo. My cute little umbrella provides no protection against the evil rain. Especially with Jow sharing the pathethic umbrella wif mi. I could swear it fared no better than the use of banana leaves coverin the head.

Brrrrr... Cold and wet. I want to get fired up in life. At least for my studies. And now the rain has to douse my enthusiasm.

I guess my daily potion of readin the signs and stars seem to read off from my mind.

The feeling is mutual -- really, really, really mutual. All signs are pointing to go, but you're still hesitating. What gives? Hey, if you're not ready, you're not ready. But if you are -- you really should make a move.

a petter pic across the sea?

Jap kids ar really cute. And they ar the most polite kids that i prob seen. I worked for an event company last week at sentosa and was in charge of a funfair booth. Its prob family day for some company and everyone there ar jap. These kids looked at u in the eye while they held out the coupon needed for a try at the funfair game and smiled meekly. They would wait patiently for their turn at the games, say thank you when i handed out the prizes to them, and took the initative to help the pple mannin the booth by pickin up the games equipment tat has flew off accidentally. a pity i cant upload the photo tat i has taken of dis very handsome kid currently. Something wrong wif my internet security settings. Shall be workin again for the event company dis fri. Woa i wanna meet cute kids. Of cuz I m still a staunch supporter of Yishun kiddies!

Played soccer wif Vietnamese internationals at Nus src handball court today. They really display acute sportsmanship in addition to their immaculate teamwork and precise passing. Haha i shall be a braggart and comment on my wonder goal today.

I was playin a lone striker for my team. It was a counter attack and i received the ball in mid air on the right somewhere slightly in front of the midway line. There was a opposition player markin mi closely and with a deft flick usin my instep of my fav right foot, i got past him in a swift flowin motion. I raced down to the centre but alas, as alwiz, my "deft" touch wasnt precise enough and it flew slightly too far away from mi. I could hav used my left foot to strike a very adventurous volley but i knew my far from polished technique would not be able to carry off such a daring strike. so i cushioned the ball down to the ground usin my left foot and as i attempted to cut back to the centre(now on the left instead haha), usin the outside of my right, the opposition midfield general rushed back to jockey mi. Without ado, i did 2 lightnin quick stepovers (edited), first to the right, second to the left and immediately pushed the ball left and foward. This halted the marker momentarily and i picked my footin and striked a angled shot from the left corner usin my left foot and it was destined to be a top class goal from a lucky strike. Hee.

The midfield general came over to congratulate mi and everyone applauded. That's genunine sportsmanship. It was juz back to basics. We were enjoyin football on a level playin field. Normally, local opposition would hav not been so generous wif their praises.

Recently, foreigners juz wowed mi with normal manners.

THE CAGE

Drats. Participated in a futsal competition organised by NUS todae. The soccer competition was held at kallang- THE CAGE, which boast the first ever local indoor pitch for soccer lovers. Haizz. but the competition ended for us at the group stage with only a point out of a possible 12. THat is disappointing. HAHA but at least the result doesnt really reflect our standard as a collective unit. Luck and the lack of a finishing touch sums up the whole performance.

Anyway, the most entertaining part of the competition is the women's tournament. Woa, look at all the svelte babes in jerseys galore. Yeah. . . Haha dun mistake me for a pervert, even thou i unmistakenly is. . . =p. Some of dem are realli good. Perhaps i should start a women's league. it would be definitely lucrative given the amount of supporters that are present. And somehow the idea of women playing the beautiful games thrills the guys. Yepxx, the beautiful game should be played by gals, cuz some probably have to agree that the fairer sex personifies the more beautiful of the 2 sexes. A lot of guys would attest to that too!!

A few gals make it to my inaugural hall of fame for the tournament. The ranking is not in order. But i got my fav player.

the 1st one is weiqun’s cousin. Oh she’s one hot babe that pull no punches. The captain of her team, she is very verbal and organizes her team’s play.

2nd one is zidane. Made a mistake in the original post by quoting that she's in the same team as weiqun’s cousin. Thanks to Henry and NHSS 2E4 for pointing out the mistake here. She has wonderful balance. Haha juz like zidane. Perhaps she’s a ballerina??

3rd one is No2. she’s one big woman. Remember a incident where she fell down and she pulled her opponent down wif her. Its really comical.

4th one is JAS. Jas is a sweet looking gal who has great ball control. Her movements are sleek and graceful. And she can bamboozle the whole defence with her dribbling. Scored a hat trick in one match.

And my last on the list, and the one I like most is Debbie!! Yes its her again. if u dunno who is she, take a look from the link under my frenz's blogs in 2E4 black book. It can be found under the just for laughs section in file 001 tittled "Who's Debbie?" Played soccer wif her bf at nus and shes realli good. This sweet and petite lass can execute a loopin volley with perfect ease and technique and she got close ball control too. Debbie Debbie Debbie!! 3 cheers for her. Lookin foward to play soccer with her again if my team got the chance.

25th feb an eventful dae

Gotta blog on yesterdae's events cuz it was sooo sooo eventful for me.

Got to a flyin start in soccer for me yesterdae. Yesterdae's passing movement was crisp, the off the ball movements were present, and the understanding impeccable. Scored 3 goals, and the first one was really quite wonderful. Just over the half way line of the court, i released a curling shot that went into the top left hand corner of the goal tat left the opponents dumbfounded. But wat i wanted to comment on was my new found ability in soccer.

When i gave a killer pass to melvin yesterdae, i felt time almost halting to a stop. Everyone seemed to be crawling. I could see everyone's movement clearly and i could observe the ball tricklin to the feet of melvin with everyone fooled by my feint. It was exactly wat i had planned. My sudden stop in my tracks when i had received the ball directly to my feet had my two markers stoppin momentarily. from there i managed to give a low instep ball to melvin with ease and glee. Square the ball i commanded to melvin in my mind and he did so to my bro, who made no mistake with an unstoppable shot into the corner of the goal. Haa i could feel and sense wat would happen a few moments after a pass in recent soccer games. It was the exact picture of wat i want to paint. Every pass can give different signals to ur teammates, wat u wan him to do can be sensed thr a pass and thr eye contact made.

For intance, a ball into space infront of ur teammates indicate that that is empty space infront for him to make a run, or when he receive a ball to his left foot, dis means that there may be a marker on his right and vice versa. There are many different cases and types of passes that can be varied instead of juz getting the ball to ur team mate. This is what makes an effective pass, and something that i am enlightened in recent games.



OTher than the mornin soccer, evenin was a fun dae too. Went to my sec sch class gathering 2B. Had dinner at swensens at suntec. It was a long wait for this gathering, at least 5 long years have passed b4 we met up again. And to think we were able to have a class gathering if not for cokty's suggestions (i am part of cokty. i make up the t. t for tan, which is my surname.)

Glad to meet up wif old frenz. They never realli change much thou. it was great to see the camaraderie among some even thou we havent meet one another for so long. For example, when we wanted to find pple to help us take photos of us, me and jac echoed 路人甲 together. and we simultaneously said eh. hahaha. so funny lor. and hee. . . dunno how come i took a photo wif a waitress at swensens. I mentioned to weiting tat she was cute, and weiting got jac to help me ask her for a photo. hahaaaa. okok. the photos are below.
