Well. Nothing much. This is my usual training set up at home. I dribble a soccer ball in zig-zag motion around the cuddly soft toys. If I knock one over, I normally do some push ups as punishment.

Fri Nite is the mood for love.

Friday Nite is the mood for love.

Treasure what you have, and you will live with lesser regrets. Things are too uncertain; the next moment is not for us to see. Yet, some things are certain. You cannot turn the clock back, nor can you avoid death.

Therefore, I try to live a life that is either less painless, or face the world with a smile. Perhaps, everyone can start treasuring things more from now. We can be kinder to animals, more respectful towards elders, more friendly towards strangers, more dedicated towards work, more helpful towards the needy, more grateful towards your family, more loyal towards friends, and more loving towards your other half.

It just takes just only a little bit, yet it brings so much more to others' life.

Music and its flavours.

Funny. Perhaps it is magic.

It is funny how Music spins delicate tales around people and interwines the hearts of them since everyone has different interpretations of the same piece of music. Despite that, it manages to spin intricate webs that link different people throughout the world.

This is especially felt due to the rapidly shrinking world where one end of the globe could immerse itself in the richly different culture of another living on the other side. Certainly, Music succeeds to capture the images of the ordinary and captivate the extraordinary imagination of those who has been absorbed by its intensity and magic.

The diverse culture across borders means that music which narrates similar stories are on vast ends of each pole. Yet, each successful piece of music, despite being different in nature, brings out the story within. They just achieve their means through thoroughly different methods.

And the listeners living in this age are the one who benefit most as they can easily immerse themselves in latin American music or Japanese folk music. There are burgeoning varieties to choose from as the world "shinks". It is not alien to see that in just a classroom, everyone has different tastes to music.

Interestingly, due to globalisation, cultural diffusion occurs. Cultural diffusion simply refers to the well-attested transfer of cultural items from one culture to another. It is not a surprising phenonemon to observe that music with different innate characteristics start showing similarities of different genre. Mandarin Pop now has rap and R&B. It is certainly a relevation to see how different genres of music now exhibit similar flavours as well as striving to retain its own uniqueness.

Hopefully, everyone benefits.

Vday!

Happy Vday PEEPS!! n friendship day too!!! =D

It seems kind of strange to be tuning to the radio ( Yes 933 ) and all the songs they are playing are love songs. That is the power of Valentine's Day. What a massive influence it has on the mass media too. The singles and couples listening to the radio now must have been on polar extremes. Not for me anyway; I have been so accustomed to it.

I just hope. Really hope. That the people I love. Be healthy and nice.

Anyway, I dedicate the below song "An Jing" to people who is in this particular predicament. I sang it myself some weeks back and pardon my really awful singing. I know it sucks, but i could not resist the temptation to scare some people. Listen if u want nightmares.

On a serious note, I want to improve on how I sing my notes, and it is better to keep track of my progress.

Doctor Love

Hush guys and gals!! It is the V-day week!

Whether you are the blushing couple who cannot wait for your first Valentine together, or the fretting one who cannot figure out what to do due to the massive figures involved, you cannot deny the colossal effect that Vday has on people. Even those who are perpetually left on the shelf like this pathetic soul who is writing rubbish here about love has plans for Vday!! LOL.

Now, lets Doctor Love impart some pschology on love to everyonE~~~


Whenever we try to list reasons for loving someone, more often than not, we get perplexed. Perplexed by our reasons, perplexed by our own actions. It is a wrong call when we try to associate our feelings with cognitive reasoning. Love is an affectively determined behaviour and the mighty brain cannot translate such emotional inputs into corrective reasoning.

Hence, self-reflection hinders self-insight. If you think you really love someone, do not bother to analyse the reasons behind it. Just go for it bravely first!!!

Our universe.

The universe is a mysterious place to be in. Despite the sheer size of heavenly bodies and galaxies, they only account for about 10% of the size of the entire universe. Dark matter occupies a large part of the universe. Like the universe, dark matter is mysterious too.

Let us look at the wonderful pictures of the universe below.


...Well, I wanted to find a few pictures of the universe and I ended with Miss Universe. Not what I wanted, but lets enjoy it while it lasts.


The Milky Way-Atlas of the Universe.


Dispelling notions that everything was revolving around the Earth, we now know that Earth is just but one little planet in the solar system. And that is only a small part of the Milky Way. Furthermore, the Milky way is only one out of billions or even trillions of galaxies in the universe. How do u feel to be a speck of a speck of a speck then??

Speaking of the Milky way, our nearest neighbour is the Andromeda galaxy M31. It is a certainty that one day, both galaxies are going to collide against each other, as they move towards each other at a speed of hundreds of kilometres every second under the influence of gravity. Despite this, other galaxies are getting further from us.

What explains this phenonemon? This is due to the expanding space in the universe. Space is constantly expanding and things get further from us even with the influence of gravity. M31 exhibits the opposite due to its proximity and hence the space between us expands lesser than the rate at which both attracts. Cool, but pretty advanced stuff.

Strange Thoughts

Perhaps, the self is like the universe. Our hearts gets attacted to one another when the "distance" between them are close enough to invoke the influence of gravity. However, if they started too far away, or get too distant, they start to shy away from another as the space and distance between hearts always get further and further.

This is due to the concept of constant change and randomness that will always be present. People often change due to their experience and if 2 people have the same experience, they should be able to shake off some of the randomess as the same experience should shape them similarly. However, no 2 people can ever have the same experience. The space between them will still get further, but the attraction is greater in this case than the expanding distance.

Thus some people get closer to you. While others just shrink away. Its the universe.


... Anyway, I am spouting rubbish for the last part already. I am tired.

Beginning of the end.

The beginning of the end. Or rather the end of a beginning. Things start, and end in a way which seem to suggest that they have never really begin. Whichever way you look at it, you cannot deny that things change, be it the speed of a bullet train, or a slow moving snail. The sands of time have been prompt, yet stoic in its dealings. Babies grow, and new lines that speak of wisdom and weariness are drawn onto the faces of others. Some dreams have materialised and been fulfiled, while others withered in the pursuit of stability..

This Chinese New year does not have a positive effect on me, unlike previous ones. Perhaps I am getting old for festive seasons. Things have just changed. I miss my grandmother. I miss my mum. I do. I really do. And the image in my mirror now reflects a dark skinned grown up, someone distant, someone I could never relate to. Though I still smile more than I frown, these days, I seem to remember sad moments more than the happy ones. I am getting detached and disillusioned about happiness.

Even as I write all this, I cannot figure out what I intend to convey in this post. Really. Let just end it all with the below sentence. I will explain if I understand. Some other time.



It's a wonder how sometimes, someone can make such a big impact on another person. One is shaped by others. And one shape others too.

The lizard on one corner.

I was a lizard perched on one corner of the wall, watchin with earnest intent the man who was lying on his bed. His eyes were distant; his face bitter as if he was holding a secret too heavy to bear; to share. He was a jailbird of his own emotions.

The man had earlier woke up to an ominous dream. In his dream, she had sunk to the abyss of vice and jumped willingly into bottomless pits of despair. He felt an impulse to protect her, yet he was too powerless to do anything. She did not respond to his calls, his desperate wails for her attention. He could only watch the entire episode unfolding right before his eyes.

In reality, they had drifted apart, like sure mists forming and rising, and dispersing in all that turbulence. He felt so much like a distant stranger at her door, secured by locks that have never been. Once, they have been connected by an emotional presence, now it went up like the mist. News of her, he heard through the voices of others.

I had known him well, yet I do not really know what he was thinking, all these years.

Friday nite is the mood for love.

Friday nite is the mood for love.

This post is overdue. However, strange reasons concocted from my little mind justify its belonging here as thoughts had long been formed for its purpose in "Fri nite is the mood for love". Like the composer who have notes popping out from nowhere and its cadence sounding to a midnight tune, I arrive here with an intent to share..

A friend recently told me one night from where she was, she could see stars filling the sky. What a beautiful sight that must have been, with so many heavenly bodies larger than the earth, yet illuminating the dark sky like tiny fireflies. From where I was, there wasn't any stars that was really obvious to me.

We all knew that it was the same sky that we were looking at, but the image was succinctly different. We were looking at the same thing, yet because of our location, our position, I am never ever going to see the sky lighted up by multitudes of stars.

Well, even if I were to be with my friend that night, watching the same image, my gaze transfixed in that particular moment, our perception of the image would probably still be different. The surreal beauty of that moment is captured in ways more complicated than its physical manifestation.

I guess that applies to human psychology. People looking at the same thing often "see" it differently. That's life. We could never really settle differences. We could only complement it.
